Another giant work of art has infiltrated the bays of Hong Kong. Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman has delivered his giant rubber duck to Hong Kong’s harbor. The floating installation – contradictory as that may be – comes as a part of Hofman’s own “Rubber Duck Project,” which has also visited the likes of other port cities such as Osaka, Auckland and Sydney. Considerably less imposing than, say, a giant replica of feces standing in West Kowloon, Hofman’s rubber duck is “soft, friendly, and suitable for all ages,” and very convincingly appeals to everyone’s inner child. The duck will be available to view until June 9.
