Exhibited at the Mondecor Jakarta gallery’s space at this year’s Art Basel Hong Kong was this spherical sculpture by the artist Ichwan Noor. Starting life as a 1953 Volkswagen Beetle, this sphere was formed by Noor with the help of aluminum and polyester and is part of a larger series of automobile-based sculptures. This particular example was priced at $88,000 USD, not an insignificant sum for an artist who has yet to gain much exposure outside of his native Indonesia. Find out more on Ichwan Noor here.
