Beastie Boys Memoir in the Works

The Beastie Boys have left their imprint on music, having been an integral part in the development of hip-hop since the group’s foundation in 1981. With the untimely passing of Adam “MCA” Yauch, the group collapsed talks of creating a retrospective memoir, which was already in the works. Presently though, the surviving members of the group, Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock), have signed a contract under Random House to produce a ‘non-traditional’ memoir. The book is set to be edited by famed music journalist Sacha Jenkins, and will be released under the same imprint that released Jay-Z’s “Decoded.” Look for more details on the book to come as it nears a slated 2015 release.
