San Francisco-based Victor Reyes has a style reminiscent of the ambitious colors of Pollock, combining it with the meticulous control of a Pose One. The painter has dedicated his life to a unique approach to graffiti and murals, which has paid off in a prolific, highly celebrated body of work. His newest collection of works, “Down For You,” is a deconstruction of classic forms – portraits, landscapes and studies are reinterpreted with a voluminous selection of colors, striving to combat traditional constrictions of the medium per graffiti’s un’written’ mantras. “Down For You” will be featured at Known Gallery in Los Angeles, running from February 23-March 9. If in the area, the opening event will run from 8 p.m.-11 p.m.
