For New Museum’s “She’s Crafty” project that took place at the end of 2012 through early 2013, Julia Chiang was tasked with transforming a tiny box within one of the museum’s display windows into an on-site workshop for creating some unique pieces of artistry. While there, she invited all visitors to write “I Love You” in any way they wanted to and to continually layer on a single sheet of paper she had at her workspace. That piece of paper served as her inspiration for the above collaboration with Case Studyo. Chiang wanted to create something made by friends, strangers as well as herself that would continually reflect all that would come across it down the line. The etched mirror sees the phrase “I Love You” plastered all over its surface, in addition to it appearing around its wood frame. Limited to just 25 and packaged in a wooden box with a signed certificate of authenticity, the “Your I Love Yous” mirror is currently available at request here.
