From November 1 to 16, Craig Redman, one half of celebrated design duo Craig & Karl, will be showcasing his “Since Never” project at The Garage in Amsterdam. The display explores individuals that Redman has recently encountered both in his hometown of New York and on his travels around the world. Featuring portraiture with colorful aesthetics, heavy and loose black lines, and sharp geometric patterns, these unique snapshots document this recent period for the artist in a vibrant manner. In order to highlight the various elements on a subject’s face, each silhouette is stripped down to the most essential shapes. From this, Redman utilizes large areas of flat color and blown-up geometric patterns to playfully juxtapose facial elements against one and other.
