Late September brought the opening of Megan Whitmarsh’s “Here Comes Purple” solo exhibition at New Image Art Gallery. A variety of mediums are set to be displayed from Whitmarsh, who has integrated fabric collages, sculptures and wall pieces into this most recent showing. Amalgamating cultural and personal perspectives as inspiration for this exhibition, the Los Angeles-based creative states simply her compulsion to create “new” things stands behind her ingenuitive embroidery and textile work. Showcasing the processes behind her creations within the work itself, the showing runs until October 20th.
