Mis Zapas: The Book - An Illustrated History of Basketball Sneakers

Known first and foremost as a Spanish online “sneakerpedia,” Mis Zapas has released a print version

Known first and foremost as a Spanish online “sneakerpedia,” Mis Zapas has released a print version of its extensive sneaker archives. This is especially good news for enthusiasts of ’90s basketball shoes as the blog has established itself as being an all-encompassing reference for both popular and obscure models. Mis Zapas: The Book differs from its counterpart in that it takes a more creative, illustrated approach to compiling and displaying its kicks — the website is known for utilizing actual footwear photographs on a grid-based background. Readers need not worry that the book’s artistic depictions skimp on real-life accuracy though, as the illustrations all feature authentic colorways and the players who wore them. Differences in style aside, the scope of Mis Zapas’ encyclopedic coverage is one aspect that remains unchanged; basketball sneakers as archaic as the 1923-released Chuck Taylor are referenced in addition to 2001’s Nike Air Hyperflight and the very current Nike LeBron 9. Mis Zapas: The Book is available now at the blog’s website while quantities last.
