American artist Christian Faur continues his crayon portrait series with a new set of unique and expertly crafted images. Using strategically placed upright crayons, Faur fabricates the appearance of pixels to create these works, resulting in a distinct mash up of pointillism and photography which blurs the lines between various artistic mediums. On this idea, Faur states that he views art like a game, in which breaking rules can open up what can be ‘said’ through a specific medium, but also where rules can help contain thoughts in unique ways so that “the medium can become the message.”
