Having first honed his skills in the streets of San Francisco and at the San Francisco Art Institute in the 1980s, painter and graffiti artist Barry McGee is set to open a retrospective exhibition of his work at the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive. Showcasing some of McGee’s most recognizable paintings, photos and installations, the exhibit also features an array of prints, magazines, and books in which McGee has worked on and even includes a special edition of the legendary Street Market produced alongside Steve Powers and Todd James. Following a private reception, the retrospective opened to the public today and is set to remain on display through December 9, 2012.
