In conjunction with his new book of the same title, prolific LA-based painter and tattooist Shawn Barber presents his “Memoir: The Tattooed Portraits Series” exhibition at the Joshua Liner Gallery in New York. The book is a 256-page hardcover by Last Gasp scheduled for release in July that features 110 full color paintings, 30 color photos and essays, and a foreword by Margaret Cho. The exhibition will run from June 28 to July 28 and display over 20 oil-on-canvas paintings by Barber that have been reproduced in the book. The collection includes an impressive 9×6-foot trio forming a panorama with nine full-length views of the artist’s fully tattooed body and other moody renderings of the tattoo parlor.
