Last week saw the opening of Arrested Motion‘s “City of Fire” exhibition at Stephen Webster in Beverly Hills. Tapping a multitude of artists to curate the show, the opening reception saw Stephen Webster’s walls entrenched in works from the likes of REVOK, Thomas Doyle, SABER, Ron English, James Jean, Patrick Martinez, Kid Zoom, Dave Kinsey, TrustoCorp, Rostarr, Adam Wallacavage, Andrew Schoultz, MARS-1, Jeff Soto, Pedro Matos, Judith Supine, Mark Dean Veca, and Nick Walker. Strategically situated within Beverly Hills, the “City of Fire” moniker and theme applied to the co-curated exhibition sought to tap each artist to visually and creatively elaborate on a personal ambition or motivation they individually possess. The goal was to play upon the common thoughts and assumptions that play into one’s mind when hearing the phrase “Beverly Hills” — a city that is often categorized and as the epitome of ambition, success and affluence; hence, “City of Fire.”
