Simply titled “Rebel,” the artful homage to Nicholas Ray’s 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause opened on May 12 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The exhibition features the works of names like James Franco, Douglas Gordon and Terry Richardson, and uses video, photography, paint, and sculpture inspired by the faces and places of the film. A fully illustrated hardcover book with selected works by the participating artists and written by Franco also accompanies the exhibition. The exhibit is presented by Gucci, and is expected to run until June 23.
