Tonight marked the official opening of the highly anticipated “The Nature of Need” KAWS exhibition in Hong Kong. Taking place at the Galerie Perrotin in the Central district, the exhibition showcased a wide range of new KAWS work. Notable among the pieces on display were an oversized, custom canvas Hands of Death and Chum. In addition, the gallery welcomed one of the largest vertical displays of KAWS works to date with over 50 vertical rectangles that we’re hung in line along the vast wall space of the newly opened gallery space. KAWS himself was in attendance for the occasion which also saw attendance from the likes of Suitman, Edison Chen, Kevin Poon, and artist Simon Birch among others.
