Meet James Hyman, a self-professed collector who has amassed over 50,000 pop culture-related magazines through any means possible. Prior to the internet boom, Hyman saw this as a way to gather information and stay up to date on people, places and culture from all around the world. BNTL caught up with Hyman amidst his collection as he talked glowingly about the 2,400 different titles that have come to define him as a person. Noting that in today’s society everyone is publishing “something,” it’s refreshing to remember a time when print held all the power.
