With one fine mullet in tow, German graffiti artist Flying Fortress kicks off our new series of sketchbook highlights, Pen & Paper. A strong cartoon aesthetic dominates Flying Fortress’s work which we saw in abundance during his attendance at this year’s POW WOW Hawai’i 2012. With a career on the streets spanning over 20 years, he eventually made the move back into the institution, earning a background in graphic design. His Teddy Troops have become a signature alongside previous works with notable brands such as Stussy.
