California-based artist Brendan Monroe recently opened up his science-inspired “Observations of Light & Matter” exhibition at the Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto. On both a microscopic and galactic scale, the event showcases Monroe’s keen ability to bridge the gap between seemingly distant realms of math, science, physics and his tangible artistic medium. Inspired by such, Monroe’s exhibition paints a comprehensive picture in its own right that is characterized by elaborate acrylic on paper pieces, polymer clay sculptures, as well as paper veneer and fir veneer creations.
