California-based artist Evan “Stink” Rossell is known for his colorful, often cartoonish work – art that was honed through days spent drawing, painting, surfing and skateboarding while growing up. Inspired by his grandfather – who worked as a cartoonist in the late ’60s and ’70s – the artist’s craft has grown to include influences from old comics, patterns, hairy people and graffiti. Stink most recently collaborated on a number of projects of note, including a Nike shoe collaboration with MadSteez, the Hurley Campus, as well as a mural for both Hurley and Wahoo’s. In this latest installment of Pen & Paper we take a closer look at the Orange County-based artist’s talent, a series of firsthand glimpses into his wonderful, wacky world.
