Rone x Meggs Mural in Melbourne

Australian street artists Rone and Meggs have just completed this stunning mural for the People’s Market to be officially opened on December 1, although it’s probably hard to miss any time you’re in the neighborhood. The impressive piece adorns the side wall of a house on Stanley Street in Collingwood, Melbourne, and was inspired by a photograph of Sophie Van Den Akker shot by Tony Mott especially for the wall. The former Australia’s Next Top Model was pictured holding a skull, which Rone described as “a perfect way to combine” both their styles. The People’s Market runs all summer 2012-13 day and night in Collingwood from Thursdays to Sundays, catering a lively blend of entertainment, retail, food, booze, workshops, yoga, art, music and market for a great Melbournian summer. Entry is free.
