Takashi Murakami at Gagosian London Preview
Takashi Murakami is showing no signs of slowing down, unveiling a show at the Gagosian Gallery
Takashi Murakami is showing no signs of slowing down, unveiling a show at the Gagosian Gallery in London right after his foray into the digital world designing the Summer Solstice “doodle” for Google. Although the exhibition is not yet open to the public, a sneak peek of the show is available here. Returning to one of his more infamous subjects – human sexuality and its expression in Japanese animation and comic books – Murakami has made at least one new ultra well-endowed sculpture for the London show, entitled 3-Meter Girl. Furthermore, Gagosian promises a new selection of paintings and sculptures from the Japanese artist in his unique “Superflat” style merging Warhol-era pop art with traditional Japanese painting media, and everything in-between. Opening next week and running through August 5.
