With a line of well over 500 people wrapping around a Hollywood street corner in Los Angeles, Mr. Brainwash opened his expansive 2011 Art Show to the public on Thursday, December 22nd. Chock full of spectacular visuals to the point of mind manipulation, the Parisian artist showcased sculptures, graffiti, pop culture icons and 2D paintings all in polarizing imaginative ways. From a giant metal elephant crushing a spray can, covering Colonel Sanders in blue paint while chickens looked on to a community room full of work, and tags from non-participating street artists, the show was a major success in every way conceivable. The massive warehouse even included multiple VIP levels featuring desolate areas of spray-painted walls with conscious-numbing messages and a private area for gallery viewing. Mr. Brainwash continued his eager to please attitude as he announced stressfully that although the signed free prints for the first 300 guests were not ready for distribution, his staff would collect names and addresses to ship them out when ready. Regardless of your opinion for Mr. Brainwash, it is clear he is determined to wow us with his tiring efforts and larger-than-life exhibits. Be sure to check out the 2011 Art Show as it is scheduled to close on Thursday, December 29.
