Craig Costello, better known as KR, has over the past 15 years built himself a premier reputation as both an artist and creator. Starting off as a terrible art student in Queens during the ’80s, graffiti was an omnipresent part of the lifestyle. In the early ’90s he began making his own markers through DIY experimentation. Sold in New York City’s retail store Alife, the product took off and the brand and artist has only continued to grow. With collaborations ranging from Nike, Levi Strauss & Co., Mini (BMW), Smith Optics, Burton Snowboards and many more, Craig Costello has become a visionary street artist of our age.
Loft in Space will be hosting his exhibition titled “Craig Costello: Site-specific painting and sculpture” on Thursday November 17, 2011, With a VIP reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and public viewing following afterwards. The show will run until December 9, 2011.
