JR is a Parisian photographer who is famous for both his street installations and the fact that even as a popular artist, his identity has remained unconfirmed. Now, JR has taken on the wall at the M Building in Miami, which is an introduction to his show “Wall & Paper” set to debut today at the Galerie Perrotin. The piece features JR’s common motif of large, bold eyes, which have appeared in multiple contexts around the world, and for this exhibition he presents never-before-seen pieces presented in a multitude of formats. The artist also recently opened an exhibition of the same name in Paris, and has received attention for winning the prestigious TED prize this year, for which he received a $100,000 grand prize and “one wish to change the world.”
