From Rooftop Sessions comes “Hollywood Arsenal” by mixed media artist James Georgopoulos. Curated by William Turner Gallery director Robert Brander, “Hollywood Arsenal” explores the crossover characteristics that the camera and gun share in today’s culture. Georgopoulos’s view is that both items symbolize strength and integrity, yet also can have the power to protect and take away freedom. These ideas are manifested via a combination of silver gelatin prints with multi-layered field of acrylic paint, as well as photographs of famous cinematic guns and famous film and television motion picture cameras. The exhibition will take place at Siren Studios on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
