El Vacío: A New Atmospheric Multi-Media Experience

“El Vacío” is a new multimedia project by photographer Gogy and creative team Nikolai Rose that utilizes a variety of catalysts to convey a monument to a feeling. The catalysts encompass photography, video, print design, installation design, web design, music and scent. Inspired by Salvador Dali’s interpretation of Diego Velásquez’s renowned painting Las Meninas, the center of the project is a series of photographs taken by Gogy that are enclosed to a cover done artistically by Nikolai Rose. Moreover, Nikolai Rose will be in charge of creating an immersive installation to exemplify the ultimate “El Vacío” experience. Enlisting various creatives to complete the project, Jonathan Vingiano of digital agency OKFocus has created a website that will be launched alongside the installation with Physical Therapy for the ambient soundtrack and Joya for the limited-edition scented candles. “El Vacío” is opening at Just Another Space in Tokyo, Japan on October 22, 2011 at 8 p.m., and will run until October 23, 2011.
