Irish artist Chloe Early is making her New York solo debut with “Feathers and Wax,” an exhibition at the Joshua Liner Gallery. Alluding to the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus’s ill-fated escape, her works plays off the suspension of both gravity and reality, but is contrasted by darker tones of aggression and folly; romantic imagery is set within a background of harsh industrial elements on a beautiful wash of colors. Painted in oil on linen and aluminum panels, Chloe Early’s new work will be on exhibit from October 20 to November 19, 2011.
